As you might recall, as of 2 weeks ago, Greenland lacked a US release date, after already being delayed from June 11, July 25, August 14, September 25, and December 15. Distributor STX Entertainment has now decided to cut its losses and release the film on Amazon. Prime members can buy the movie beginning on October 13, with rentals available as of Oct. 27.

Amid terrifying news accounts of cities around the world being leveled by the comet’s fragments, the Garrity’s experience the best and worst in humanity while they battle the increasing panic and lawlessness surrounding them. As the countdown to global apocalypse approaches zero, their incredible trek culminates in a desperate and last-minute flight to a possible safe haven.”
The cast also features Scott Glenn, Roger Dale Floyd, Andrew Bachelor, David Denman, and Gary Weeks. Ric Roman Waugh (Angel Has Fallen) directed a script by Chris Sparling (Buried). Producers include Butler, Basil Iwanyk, Sébastien Raybaud, and Alan Siegel.
The movie has been released in several other countries in Europe and Asia, grossing $17.6 million on an estimated budget of $11.5 million.
