The 2019 Norwegian hit The Tunnel (Tunnelen) is finally being released in the U.S. Here’s the scoop:
A tank truck crashes in a tunnel in the ice-cold Norwegian mountains, brutally trapping families, teenagers and tourists on their way home for Christmas. A blizzard is raging outside and the first responders struggle to get to the scene of the accident. The wrecked tanker catches fire and the tunnel is filled with deadly smoke. Will the help get there in time?

Director Pål Øie and writer Kjersti Helen Rasmussen (Villmark 2) reteamed for The Tunnel. which has already grossed nearly $3M on an estimated budget of just over $400K. The cast features Thorbjørn Harr, Ylva Lyng Fuglerud, Lisa Carlehed, Mikkel Bratt Silset, Peter Førde, Daniel Alexander Skadal, and Per Egil Aske.
Samuel Goldwyn Films is bringing TrustNordisk’s movie to video-on-demand platforms on April 9. Be on the lookout.
