Teaser Trailer for North Sea Released, Film Sold for U.K.
Fantefilm has released a teaser trailer for their latest production, Nordsjøen (North Sea), which explores the consequences of 50 years of offshore drilling by Norway.
The film was directed by John Andreas Andersen from a script by Lars Gudmestad and Harald Rosenløw-Eeg. The movie stars Kristine Kujath Thorp (Ninjababy), Rolf Kristian Larsen (Cold Prey), and Anders Baasmo Christiansen (Kon-Tiki). Previous Fantefilm hits include The Quake and The Wave, which were sold worldwide by TrustNordisk. North Sea received production support from the Norwegian Film Institute. Nordisk Film will release the movie in Scandinavia first, with no word yet on a U.S. release.
Russian Fire Disaster Movie No Escapes Coming Home on July 20
Shout! Factory is releasing Ogon (No Escapes), directed by Aleksey Nuzhnyy (Speakerphone, Ulga), on Blu-ray, DVD, and video on demand on July 20.
The 2020 film tells the story of Alexey Sokolov, commander of a team of aerial forest firefighters. When a fire breaks out deep in a Russian forest, Alexey takes his battle-tested team and a rookie to save a village and its residents from total destruction. The film’s theatrical run in Russia grossed more than $8 million on a budget of $7.5 million.
Emergency Declaration Out of Competition for Cannes
This airline disaster movie has been classified as Out of Competition for the Cannes Film Festival.
Director-writer Han Jae-rim’s film tells the story of a passenger jet that must make an emergency landing after a terrorist incident. The cast features Song Kang-ho (Parasite), Lee Byung-hun (The Good, The Bad, The Weird) and Jeon Do-yeon (Secret Sunshine). Production companies include Han’s Woojoo Film, C-JeS Entertainment, and Cinezoo.
