In news from “The Gift that Keeps On Giving” department, writer-director Jody Lambert (People Like Us) and writer Michael Dowling (Law and Order) bring us a comedy based on one of the most infamous radio broadcasts of all time. From IMDb:
A comedy about a small New Jersey town on the night of Orson Welles’ legendary 1938 “War of the Worlds” radio broadcast, which led millions of listeners to believe the U.S. was being invaded by Martians.
The movie, which won the Audience Award for Comedy Vanguard at last year’s Austin Film Festival–as well as Best Director, Picture, and Ensemble Acting at last year’s Phoenix Film Festival–stars Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect), Tony Hale (Veep), Tony Jaeger (Parenthood), and Heather Burns (Two Weeks Notice).
Brave New Jersey opens August 7 in limited release and on demand.
